Game after Grace era

The cricketing world  saw the antics of W.G. Grace initially. But the latter part wrote a new and innovative story.
There was an emergence of new techniques in the bowling as well as batting.

  • At the beginning of the 20th century, the bowling, a new ball “Googly” came               into play.
  • It came into play by BJT Bsanquet after he did an experiment on the billiards table.
  • These years saw emergence of many great leg spinners like Voegler, Faulkner, Skiwatz and White.
  • The other innovations was the introduction of “seam”.
  • The bats were of the same size as they are today.
  • The stumps were 28 inches long and 8 inches wide.
  • The balls were bigger than they are now.
